Production Engineer

Our client is hiring professionals at their production facility. If you are a team player and keen on safety...this is the role for you! Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will monitor routine operations of chemical processing units to assure compliance with established operating procedures. Should anomalies are detected, respond as necessary to provide guidance in correction of the problems. The Production Engineer observes plant areas for opportunities for improvement through technical, analytical tools and prepare technical reports including recommendations for modifications. He or she will participate in problem solving and/or goal setting activities of departments as circumstances warrant, providing assistance and expertise to resolve technical issues. Maintains assigned portion of Engineering Office and related information retrieval systems data, vendor files, plant drawings, and the like. Assures that plant engineering services and facilities are available to works personnel and outside consultants, engineers and other personnel.

Responsibilities and Key Contributions

 You will participate in implementing production/processing methods and controls to meet quality & production standards in a safe and cost efficient manner  

 Participate in implementing standards for measuring and reporting operational reliability as a reflection of operational function effectiveness  

 Participates in facility shutdowns to assist with inspections and provide a resource when trouble-shooting problems...very important skill sets.

 Participate in the site P&ID program.

 You will be working closely with maintenance coordinate equipment outages and repairs. 

Process Engineering resource for the North Vancouver Plant to assure the utilization of Good Engineering Practices and proper materials of construction. 
 

Educational requirements and attributes


Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical degree from an accredited university with 3-6 years of experience in process engineering.

Proficiency in Production Process design, analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization

Under the guidance of of a solid Occupational Health & Safety Manager, you will be expected to have a strong knowledge of OSHA PSM to guide and initiate/monitor/audit site safety in a chemical process environment.

Demonstrated commitment to employee health and safety.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

A professional designation would be considered as an asset (P.Eng)

Working cohesively with local site management, a true team player.
