Senior Project Engineer

This important role with the Toronto Design-Project Team is at a senior level, meaning you are passionate about buildings, everything buildings! If you have previous experience in another structural discipline...this isn't for you, we need life-long committed, passionate individuals about...you guessed it; buildings!

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical creativity under the guidance of our client's experienced professionals. The successful candidate will be comfortable dealing with clients, and working in a team-based environment. The role provides opportunity for technical and business acumen growth, while requiring a commitment to provide clients with practical, creative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Build client relationships
Manage project schedules
Monitor and ensure quality control
Train and coach members of the project team
Suggest innovative solutions and implement when appropriate
Delegate and/or supervise construction review and coordinate with field staff
Contribute to setting financial goals for the group and manage production costs
Design and manage new building projects or renovations to existing structures
Fulfill an in-house technical resource role for specific aspects of a project

Professional Qualifications: must haves...

Education:

Degree in Civil Engineering
Registered with a provincial engineering association (PEO)

Experience:

Minimum 6 years experience, ideally 15 years of strong design experience in reinforced concrete and steel structures, as well as lateral analysis and design experience of high-rise buildings...we currently are building two 100 story buildings in downtown Toronto!

Team player with the ability to work independently and with minimum direction

Inquisitive, clear thinker who can determine what work is required, and draw rational conclusions from information available
Able to conceptualize in three dimensions
Comfortable working at heights
Valid Canadian Drivers License
