Human Resources Generalist

Our mining client, a Canadian success story, is currently recruiting for the position of Human Resources Generalist located at its Tumbler Ridge facility.

In support of the Company’s Mission and Values, the Human Resources Generalist will manage the day to day operations of the Human Resources office in North Eastern BC. The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing the administration of HR policies, procedures and programs; providing guidance and direction to managers, salaried and contract employees on interpretation of HR policies and programs; coaching managers and supervisors in labour relations matters; maintaining positive labour / employee relations; recruiting and on-boarding; and supporting Health and Safety and Payroll.

The incumbent will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Provide positive influential leadership, direction and expertise on the full scope of Human Resources functions
Manage full cycle of the recruitment process of salaried and hourly (contract) employees in various departments of the Company
Collaborate and work proactively with the Management team on a wide range of human resources issues including: employee relations, conflict resolution, performance management, employee retention and engagement, investigations, attendance management; training and development; and policies and procedures
Coach and advise management and team members through complex employee / labour relations issues and procedural inquiries
Manage and coordinate the Disability Management Program in collaboration with the Safety Coordinator
Promote and maintain a strong team culture
Maintain accurate employee files while ensuring confidentiality
Collaborate with our client’s HR team on new initiatives and leverage team expertise
Ensure compliance of Employment Law and Human Rights Legislations
Support the Payroll team
Promote employee engagement

Education & professional certification

Post-secondary education in human resources management
CPHR would be an asset

Knowledge & experience

Minimum 5 to 8 years of professional level human resources experience
Labour Relations experience

Occupational Health & Safety knowledge would be considered an asset

Experience in an Industrial setting ( mining, oil & gas, manufacturing, etc...)
